How to set up a proxy in Proxifier (Proxy Servers & Per-App Rules)

When Proxifier is the right tool

Browsers and antidetect browsers have their own proxy fields, but plenty of Windows and macOS software does not: desktop tools, game launchers, bots and automation programs that only know how to use your normal connection. Proxifier sits between those programs and the network and pushes their traffic through a proxy without the program knowing.

This also means you can be selective. One app can leave through a Japan proxy while everything else on the computer uses your normal connection, which keeps updates, calls and streaming off the proxy.

Why you must select HTTPS (HTTP CONNECT) in Proxifier

In Proxifier's terminology, the plain HTTP option only forwards standard port-80 web requests, whereas HTTPS uses the HTTP CONNECT method to tunnel arbitrary TCP connections across any port. All VinaProxy dedicated IPv4 and Static ISP proxies support HTTP CONNECT.

Creating per-application Proxification Rules

• Open Profile > Proxification Rules... in Proxifier
• Set the Default rule's Action to Direct so your normal desktop traffic stays on your local connection
• Click Add..., browse to your target executable (e.g., Zalo.exe, dnplayer.exe, or chrome.exe), and set Action to your newly added proxy server
• Under Profile > Name Resolution, ensure Resolve hostnames through proxy is enabled to prevent DNS leaks

Rules decide which apps use the proxy

Adding a server does nothing on its own. Under Profile and Proxification Rules, create a rule that lists the program file (for example tool.exe), leave target hosts as any, and set the action to your new proxy. Proxifier checks rules from top to bottom and uses the first one that matches, so a specific app rule must sit above the Default rule.

Keep the Localhost rule set to Direct and leave Default as Direct unless you really want the whole machine on the proxy. Routing everything through one IP is rarely what people intend, and it can create loops with other VPN or proxy software that is running.

Send DNS through the proxy as well

By default the computer may still look up website names through your own internet provider, which reveals where you are even when the connection itself goes through the proxy. In Profile and Name Resolution, choose the option to resolve hostnames through the proxy. After that, both the lookup and the connection come from the proxy IP.

Proxifier troubleshooting

• The Proxifier log shows 407: the credentials were refused. Re-enter the username and password in the server entry and confirm authentication is switched on.
• Connection attempts fail or time out: wrong address or port, a SOCKS protocol selected, or an expired order. Use the built-in check in the Proxy Servers window to test the server alone.
• The app still uses your real IP: its rule is below Default, the program name is misspelled, or the program starts a helper process that also needs to be listed.
• Pages load but the location looks wrong: turn on remote name resolution, then test with the proxy checker. Persistent problems go to a ticket in the dashboard.

   Open Profile > Proxy Servers > Add

   Launch Proxifier, go to Profile > Proxy Servers..., and click Add....

   Enter IP/Port and choose Protocol: HTTPS

   Fill in your VinaProxy IP and Port, select the HTTPS radio button, check Enable under Authentication, and enter your Username and Password.

   Click Check to verify TCP tunneling

   Press Check; once Testing Passed — Proxy is ready to work with Proxifier! appears in green, click OK.

   Assign apps in Proxification Rules

   Open Profile > Proxification Rules..., create a rule for your target .exe, and assign it to the proxy.
